I am back, and not with good news. You must have all read about the recent attack, today I caught this sick show on the new local channel 9 TV or something. It was so biased! From the imagery of a snarling dog, to the captions aimed at scaring people, this item was so one-sided, that it my blood boil....
There was some lady called Diana who represented some group called "Stray Dog Free Bangalore" or soemthing, who was so weird. Apparently, 6 people in her lane have been bitten (what are the chances?), and she was talking of stuff like laws for strays. Think of that. Not for pet-owners. But a law that the stray dog needs to follow. If the underlying message was not rabble-rousing for another cull, it would have been funny.
Tried desperately to call in, couldn't get through.
The take-away : frenzied calls, venom aimed at strays calling for extermination, and the unfortunate BBMP man Parviz Ahmed Piran, who, strangely, made sense was cornered with sarcasm and fury.
Overall, a sinking feeling. I fear dark clouds on the horizon again....

is there a link? it sounds awful. these people keep popping out of the woodwork now and then...we need some creative solutions and at least one animal friendly media outlet.
oh yes, that is Diana (De-Vil) Barucha. All her miserable little life she has strived towards one goal. Total stray dog elimination. At whatever cost. Maybe she wants a dog leather coat?! She has a leather export business!!! She is responsible for the 'ngo' Stray Dog Free Bangalore. She spits statistics out of her mouth ….many thousand bites per day/month/year with no truth to back them up. Many years ago I had called her up to reason with her when she was rabidly yelling her head off and I could her in the background ( i am sure, on purpose, to anger me) "Mom, what should I do with the puppy? skin him?"...so anyway, she is the very personification of evil. Ignore and stay away from her.
we should create our own comic book..based in bangalore...the strays, the kitties...and a band of girls and boys who rescue them...like the famous five, you know..:)...helped by cat goddeses like bast and freya to fight against the de-vil baruchas!
it was on news 9..diana was horrible..she told adoption is a sad thing nobody wil adopt..only option is killing..these ppl shld be banned..come on if u dont want to take of these poor helpless dogs don take care but least thing you can do is not discouraging ppl adopting..tat was a really sad interview!!
